Empowering Your Child’s Cognitive Growth: 4 Key Themes

As a parent, you want to give your children the best opportunities to learn and grow. Often we get sucked into a competitive thought process that only with specific academic, focused, or directed opportunities will our children develop and learn.

Considering the research, we couldn’t be more wrong.

Play allows children to develop critical-thinking and strategic thinking skills while allowing them to engage with the physical world around them. After visiting a local school and hanging out with some fantastic kiddos, I wanted to take some time to explore four themes in the research and ideas for at-home play that can benefit your child’s development and offer a range of options to engage kids in materials and thinking tasks that foster crucial skills.

Parents often ask me questions about being ready for kindergarten and on. Here’s the thing, let them play. I can’t say it enough, and I can’t say it loud enough. Let. Them. Play. That is the best way to help them prepare for their future.
